Welcome!

Welcome to the Journal of Middle East Women’s Studies and to our new JMEWS web site! Founded in 2004 by the Association of Middle East Women’s Studies (AMEWS), JMEWS is now the leading journal for scholars working on gender issues across the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) and throughout the MENA diaspora. Given the current events sweeping the MENA region, we are especially eager to publish cutting-edge research by scholars who are following the gender implications of the “Arab spring.”

We invite you to join AMEWS, which provides an automatic subscription to JMEWS. We also encourage you to follow the latest news on our new JMEWS website.
